An elegant 18th century, circa 1750, French Louis XV period style marquetry, veneer inlaid and ormolu-mounted Bureau à Cylindre,

The bureau is raised by four cabriole legs decorated by ormolu foliate chutes with satyr mask extended with foliate ormolu band to the paw feet sabots. The chutes flanking to the scalloped apron with three drawers framed with hammered ormolu borders and ormolu foliate handles, inlaid with foliate marquetry patterns, the central drawer with ormolu keyhole escutcheon. The side drawers are separated by a long acanthus gadroon shaped ormolu chutes extending with ormolu border elongated to the internal side of the cabriole legs,

The frieze of drawers is topped with a gilt-tooled leather fitted pullout sliding writing surface with foliate ormolu handles,

Above is the roll top cylinder, the curved sides ornamented with rich wide ormolu acanthus movements terminating with leafy ormolu clasps, all above a scalloped shaped surface adorned with a Cyma Recta style ormolu band all around the contour, The roll top door is inlaid with marquetry patterns of musical instruments and scrolled leafy ornamentations inside a fillet, sans traverse palisander veneer inlay and Cyma Recta style ormolu band,

The roll top opens with two ormolu foliate handles to eight different size small drawers, one central door and two compartments, all decorated with marquetry works of foliate and musical trophies patterns, ormolu borders, ormolu cartouches with scrolled leaves,

The roll top is surmounted with a gilt-ormolu baluster shaped pierced three quarter opened gallery,

The convex shaped sides inlaid with sans traverse veneer inlays and marquetry patterns of musical trophies and foliate scroll-works.
