A captivating Louis XV period carved and gilt wood Rococo style grand console with mirror
The impressive hand carved piece is gilded with 18. carat French gold foils. The serpentine shape elegant scalloped and pierced frieze and sides have an enchanting central reserve decorated with blossoming acanthus sprays branching from the central seashell, and topped with serpentine shape white marble.
The c-scrolled foliate carved cabriole turning legs are joined by an scrolled “X” stretcher centered by a seashell amidst berried foliate.
The mirror base has an elaborately carved floral rococo scroll and surmounted by a blossoming garland surmounted by a central urn issuing a large beautiful pierced scallop acanthus flanked by a blossoming swaged garland extended to a portion of the sides.
